Hiatus

Wow! It's been over two months since we've really written anything or updated you on the boys.  It's really hard to believe that the boys will be one year olds next week.
Here's the lists of firsts that have happened in the last 2 months...

  • Towards the end of August we experienced our 1st cold...  mommy 1st, boys next, then daddy.  it was not fun and pretty exhausting.

  • After recuperating, we all took a trip to sunny south Florida!  The boys had their first airplane ride.  I expected the worst, but it really went well.  The boys were super excited during and after take off and finally fell asleep for the last hour.  They nodded off right after take off on the return and slept the entire flight.  We definitely got stares as others were taking their seats around us, but the boys showed them what angels they are.  The most difficult part was just getting through the airport...security.

Mommy & Daddy celebrated their 4th anniversary by dropping the lil dudes off at Yaya & Poppi's and heading to Grove Isle Resort for 3 days.  This was the first time that we left the boys in someone else's care overnight.  It was incredibly enjoyable and odd feeling at the same time.  It happened to be Miami Spice so mommy & daddy made it a real culinary vacation eating at michael's genuine food & drink , and scarpetta.  We ended up getting Yaya sick and Poppi had to really chip in in the childcare dept.  Upon on our return we were happily surprised to have footage of all that happened while we were away vacationing...

  • Next up..the boys first UT tailgate.  In early October we journeyed to Knoxvegas for some UT vs. GA action.  We took the boys to tailgate with Aunt Alli & Co.
A clip of Enzo's chat with Ms. Cheeky...

We also ran into a couple of old buddies, and it was really nice to see them and catch up.  On Sunday we visited with Grandma & Aunt Carole.  The boys love Grandma's house...lots for them to get into!  Luckily, Grandma keeps them out of too much trouble.

  • Boo!  The boys experienced their 1st Halloween!  Halloween is my favorite holiday and I always wanted to be an ewok when I was little, but never was so the boys first costume...ewoks of course.

Finally, together.

They finally allowed us to take one photo of them together with their hood thingies on.  But this is how it really went for 99% of the time...

  • Teeth and lots of them...4 and counting.  Maceo got his first tooth, and a week and a half later, Enzo got his.  Both on the bottom, but each got the opposite tooth in.  They both have their second bottom tooth and now a top tooth coming in.  They were late bloomers in this category, but it seems like they are catching up quickly.

  •   And in the midst of all the teething...our second cold.  First Maceo, then Enzo, then Mommy, then Daddy.  Another simple head cold.  Not so bad for us, but the boys can't get the mucus out.  First runny noses, then it moves to the chest and there is coughing, frequent night wakings due to the latter symptoms, and cranky during the day.  I sure hope it's a long while before we have colds in this house again!

We are having more fun everyday.  It just keeps getting better.  The only part that is hard to bear right now is the destruction. The boys are into everything.  I give up at times and let them destroy an entire area of the room they're in.  They are eating on their own, which is messy, but nice. more destruction.  They currently love speeding their walkers down the driveway, so much so that they wore holes in their shoes. destruction.  They are cruzin like crazy, holding on to anything to get around the house grabbing remotes & cell phones and banging them on the floor. destruction!  you get the picture...we have the destruction duo.
